Determining the Ideal Strip Size for Your Application
One of the most common inquiries we receive pertains to selecting the appropriate strip size for a particular application. Our range of strip sizes includes: 200mm x 2mm, 300mm x 3mm, and 400mm x 4mm.
As a general guideline, the size of the strip used to seal a doorway should correspond to the height of the door opening.
For door openings under 2.5m, it is recommended to use a more narrow, lightweight strip, to make it easier to pass through for pedestrian traffic. Taller door openings benefit from wider, thicker, and heavier strips for effective doorway sealing.
Though each application varies, customers typically achieve satisfactory results by adhering to these suggestions:
Door openings up to 3 meters high are adequately sealed with 200mm x 2mm strips, providing the right balance between ease of entry and sealing the doorway from airflow.
Door openings up to 4 meters high benefit from 300mm x 3mm strips, offering increased thickness and weight to withstand movement.
For door openings exceeding 4 meters in height, 400mm x 4mm strips excel at firmly hanging in the doorway to hinder airflow.
Choosing the correct strip size significantly impacts the performance of a PVC strip door. Factors such as wind intensity, airflow, and strip overlap percentage also influence effectiveness.
